About the Priest Lake Marathon

Fall colors, fresh mountain air, and plenty of space to run wild! The Priest Lake Marathon courses offer a wilderness running adventure through the Idaho Panhandle National Forest, with all of the scenery of a trail race but on the non-technical surface of drivable, dirt forest roads. Runners travel along the lakeshore of pristine Priest Lake, through groves of lush forest, huge old-growth cedars, and big views of the rugged Selkirk Mountains.

Priest Lake Marathon is a destination event for runners looking to complete a 50 state race goal.

Race Day

Packet pickup and day-of registration is at the start line on the day of the race. Registration will close 30 minutes before the first race’s start time. Please arrive early for day-of registration!

Let your family and friends track your run! Link to live tracking in the sidebar.

All distances start and end at Hill’s Resort.

Stay for the post-race food and celebration at the finish line after your race.

  • I highly recommend [the 50k] for the marathoner looking to step up to the ultra distance.

  • A perfect introduction to running on dirt. Fire roads are optimal trail running 101 material: they are wider than trails, generally well-packed, and without the treacherous obstacles of large rocks and roots that trail runs can boast... the perfect in-between race

    Out There Outdoors

  • This is a small, VERY well organized event! If you are looking for crowds, keep looking. If you are looking for beautiful scenery, amazing race directors, great value, well-stocked aid stations and events that are clearly put on by runners, you are in luck. Sign up, you won't regret it :)
